Identify the companies and people visiting your WordPress site. Connect once, no code, and Squid ID stays installed across theme and core updates.

== Description ==

Squid ID tells you which companies and people are on your website, even when they never fill out a form. This plugin installs Squid ID on your WordPress site and keeps it installed.

**Connect once, no code.** Install the plugin, click "Connect with Squid ID", choose your website, and you're done. There's no key to copy and nothing to configure.

**It stays installed.** WordPress can drop raw header scripts when you switch themes or update. This plugin prints Squid ID from inside WordPress, so it survives those changes.

**It connects the way your domain actually resolves.** A common reason a fresh install never connects is a domain mismatch (you entered acme.com, but the site serves at www.acme.com). When you connect through the plugin, Squid ID reads the real address your site resolves to and allows it for you.

You'll need a Squid ID account. You can create one free at https://squid-id.com.

== Installation ==

1. Download the plugin .zip from https://squid-id.com/wordpress/squid-id.zip
2. In WordPress, go to Plugins > Add Plugin > Upload Plugin, choose the .zip, install, and activate.
3. Open "Squid ID" in your WordPress admin menu.
4. Click "Connect with Squid ID", sign in, and choose this website.

That's it. Squid ID starts identifying visitors on the next page view.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= Do I need an account? =

Yes, to connect through the plugin you sign in to your Squid ID account. You can create one free at squid-id.com. If a developer manages your site, they can install and activate the plugin, then you click Connect once from your own login.

= Does deleting the plugin delete my data? =

No. Removing the plugin only unlinks this WordPress install. Your website and data in the Squid ID dashboard stay intact.

= Will it slow down my site? =

No. The SDK loads asynchronously and runs off your page's main thread, so it doesn't block rendering.
